Sightseeing treasures in southern Bohemia

Rabi castle , the nearest is only seven kilometers - Rabí Castle - and it has a fabulous falconry display with Condor and Lammergeyer. The display can be combined with a castle visit (the largest spectacular ruin) and website http://guide.travel.cz/160 has more information
We recommend the visit of some of the many nearby castles and historic towns eg, Ceské Budejovice (Budweis in german), Prachatice, Ceský Krumlov, Trebon etc all an amazing experience
Besides day trips to Prague there are some famous old towns within an hour or two of the house

Ceské Budejovice (original Budweiser) where you can visit the brewery and many sites http://guide.travel.cz/588 website has an interactive map and photo gallery for Ceské Budejovice and leads you to other places in southern Bohemia. On the way to Ceské Budejovice you could view Hluboka chateau.

Prachatice http://guide.travel.cz/58 is intriguing for the decorations (sgraffiti) of the old buildings and other treasures.
Photo gallery of southern Bohemia and Šumava can be viewed on http://www.ceskehory.cz/sumava/default_gb.asp?menu=47&content=document&ID=87
Other towns can also boast and show examples of sgraffiti http://info.plzen-city.cz/html/turista/en/36.html for illustration.

Ceský Krumlov - a European Heritage town on the Vltava and the best example of a medieval town in Europe. Old mansion houses and castles which can be visited . http://guide.travel.cz/55 can give you some details as well as guide books in our library.
Highly recommended is also Trebon http://guide.travel.cz/148
